HOW IT WORKS
Duracolor Tricor fiber utilizes negatively charged polymers. The negative charge of the polymer ensures that the fiber, through its inherent characteristics, will repel negatively charged substances. The fiber never allows the common stain makers to bond, so the carpet actively resists the stain.
The most common stains are caused by acid-based substances that carry a negative charge. Since other common nylon fibers are positively charged, the negatively charged acid-based substances are attracted to the opposite charge of the fibers and bond, creating a hard to remove stain.
BENEFITS OF TRICOR
Our advanced Duracolor Tricor fiber technology refracts light and optimizes soil hiding, soil removal and color clarity through its unique modified-delta shape and triangular hollow core.
Most nylon fibers have a solid core, which magnifies the appearance of soil between cleanings. And fibers with the trilobal shape also create deep crevices that obscure color clarity and trap dirt.
STRENGTH OF THE TRIANGLE
The modified delta shape of our Duracolor Tricor fiber, paired with the offset triangular hollow core, resists crushing and improves performance. This innovation helps to produce commercial carpet with greater durability and longer lifecycles.
The non-load bearing trilobal shape of more ordinary nylon carpet fibers results in three long, skinny legs that easily mat and crush under normal foot traffic. This results in carpet that wears sooner, loses pile integrity, and makes for shorter lifecycles.
