The Award

The “Believe in Better” award is a physical trophy designed by Harry Allen. It was designed as an iconic spiral, representing three strands of fiber twisted together, each strand representing the Mohawk Group pillars of design, innovation, and sustainability. The award was crafted in ceramic and made in New York City by Greenwich House Pottery.

About Harry Allen

Harry Allen established his award-winning, multi-disciplinary design firm, Harry Allen Design, in 1993. Although trained as an industrial designer, Harry achieved prominence in 1994 for his interior design of Moss, and his iconic "Bank in the form of a Pig". Harry’s product design work spans a wide range, from furniture and lighting to packaging and accessories. Harry’s work has garnered many awards and is in the permanent collections of many museums, including MoMA in New York. Since 2020, Harry has been teaching in the Graduate Furniture Design Program at the Rhode Island School of Design.
